Using hand signals
Always let others know what you are doing on the road. Simple hand signals indicating a left or right turn are among the most crucial methods of communication that you must employ.
Sufficient visibility

Obey the rules of the road
Moving with the flow of traffic is the best rule of thumb. The only reasons not to do so are when you are attempting a left turn, or you are trying to pass another bicyclist or motorist.
Avoid distractions
Distracted bicyclists are more likely to get into an accident. Do not use your phone for any reason while you are operating a bicycle.
